Rarity

A 5-month long game project

Rarity is a 2.5D action RPG/dungeon crawler for PC made in Unity in which you loot randomized dungeons in your quest to become the ultimate collector. With real time combat, customization and NPC trading features. You collect items similarly to how you would collect trading cards, with the end goal being to collect all the pieces, no matter how rare.


My role in a team of 5

I created and coded all of the UI and its functionality including the levelling system, main menu, pause menu, skills menu, hotbar, health UI, level-up popup. I also designed and coded the skills system, whereby the player could spend skillpoints earned on each level up on unique upgrades such as stat boosts and abilities like charged attacks. I designed the inventory and codex and collaborated with our main systems programmer to bring it to life. I also assisted the other programmers create features such as the cutscenes, dialogue, chest system. I also was a bug tester and fixer; I probably spent more than a dozen hours debugging. I also sourced and implemented all the SFX and music. Additionally, I created a few of the pixel-art weapons and armor in the game as well as the game's trailer.


I designed and coded the pause menu, including the UI, controls, settings menu, level select and the functionality.
